The North Face

The North Face is an outdoor leisure equipment company based in the United States. The North Face is a manufacturer of outdoor clothes, boots, and accessories. The company's logo is based on Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, which was established in 1968 to supply climbers. The label had spread beyond outdoor fans by concentrating on street couture by the late 1990s, and it has been known as a streetwear trend icon label since the 2000s. VF Corporation purchased it in 2000.

Although continuing to shape the outdoor industry through apparel, adventure, and athlete accomplishments, the company introduced two game-changing product lines: Thermoball and Fusiform. Synthetic insulation, similar to down, was invented by Thermoball. Fusiform transformed the way professional clothing is produced, revolutionizing the production space. The North Face now offers a comprehensive line of performance clothing, supplies, and boots, more than 50 years since its modest beginnings. We test the limits of creativity so you can test the limits of discovery. We're also incredibly fortunate to be the first pick of the world's best climbers, mountaineers, extreme skiers, snowboarders, endurance athletes, and adventurers.

The North Face was built on a passion for the great outdoors and a determination to make all kinds of travel possible, from your backyard to the Himalayas. We've lived by our "true north" for the past 50 years, the conviction that discovery can transform us, challenge us, and make us see the world in new ways.

Our world-class athletes are the starting point. Their thoughts, feedback, and modern equipment concepts provide the motivation and obstacles that propel advanced material research and production, as well as creative design and construction. The most important move entails research in our labs as well as for our athletes on expeditions all around the planet.
